1、1988年汉城奥运会又称第二十四届夏季奥林匹克运动会，于当地时间9月17日至10月2日在韩国首都汉城拉开帷幕。汉城之所以能够成功举办奥运会，与当时韩国实行的和平统一外交政策密不可分，在圆满举办本届奥运会之后，大大提高了韩国的国际形象和国际地位。
